A hidden gem of a place that my wife Liz and I had never seen before our long weekend break in England's Lake District at the end of July 2020.
This is Watendlath Tarn, a small lake set in rolling farmland at the end of a very long and winding single track road leading up from Derwent Water and past Ashness Bridge.
Liz and I ended up spending quite some time here, walking the path around the lake and on up into the hills with, of course, lots of photographs en route featuring this quintessentially British countryside landscape.
This image features an old stone barn and farmhouse at the head of the lake, just catching the fleeting light of the sun.
