This colourful array of flags, fluttering in the breeze over the little harbour at Barolino on the shores of Lake Garda in northern Italy, caught my eye as my wife Liz and I stopped for a stroll and a gelato.
We were coming to the end of our two week holiday in the Italian lakes, and had just moved from Lake Como to Lake Garda to do some exploring at a fresh location.
Lake Garda was much less mountainous and thus more open than Lake Como and the weather seemed much more sunny, probably due to the flatter terrain.
So photography wise Lake Garda was a quite different prospect to Lake Como, and I ended up concentrating much more on man-made features rather than natural scenery.
