The low winter's sun splashes its golden light across the landscape as I start on my journey up the Miner's path to the summit of Snowdon on a glorious morning following snow.
A ridge of high pressure lies over Wales, but the air is still crisp and clean from the fronts that have just cleared.
A hundred feet below the path lies the mysterious, ice covered Llyn Teyrn, with its abandoned copper workings hidden from view. while facing me are the snow covered peaks of Crib Goch and Snowdon itself.
I've still got a long way to go to get to the top, but there's no way I'm passing up the opportunity to record this beautiful scene on a rare day in Snowdonia.
