This shot, taken at the edge of Bala lake, North Wales, just before sunrise, is one of my earliest photos taken on Velvia. (For more info on my photographic history click here ).
Even though this image dates from an age when I was less technically savvy than I am now (at least, I hope that's true!) it remains one of my favourites.
What makes this picture special for me is the quality of the light, with the sun below the horizon just starting to bottom light the heavy clouds over the lake.
This is the type of light that make the hairs on the back of my neck stand on end, and makes it worth getting up early for!
