When the weather's good there's no more glorious place in the world to explore than the mountains and valleys of North Wales.
Mind you, with mountains close to the sea, and the prevailing wind blowing moisture laden air over them, good weather days can be quite hard to come by.
Nevertheless, Liz and I enjoyed such a day a few weekends ago when we decided to visit an old favourite walking location of ours, Llyn Crafnant, just a few miles inland of Conway.
This lake is surrounded by wooded mountains, and with a decent path all the way round it's an easy two hours walk with stunning views as you go out and back.
The view shown here is from the south end of the lake and features an old drystone wall which is typical of the area.
So next time there's a good day forecast, make an effort and visit.
