During our week long winter break on Lanzarote in the Canary Islands my wife Liz and I managed to explore pretty much all of this relatively small island.
One of the places we liked so much that we went back to a couple of times was the small seaside town of Arrieta, on the north coast of the island.
Relatively undeveloped, Arrieta seemed to be a place where the locals went for a day out and a spot of surfing on the large Atlantic rollers that surge onto this coastline.
Walking along the short seafront we came across this little tableau at the end of the promenade.
Just a lovely arrangement of line, form and colour, but I reckon the owner of that boat must be pretty confident that the Atlantic ocean will behave itself!
