No matter where you go in Lanzarote, you can always spot a volcano or two.
At least this is what my wife Liz and I discovered during our week long Canary Island winter break in February 2018.
We managed to tour the whole island in our hire car during that time, taking in the volcanic scenery wherever we went.
This example of volcanic landscape is the aptly named 'Montana Roja' (Red Mountain) near the seaside resort of Playa Blanca on the south coast of the island.
We saw many varied hues of landscape during our exploring of Lanzarote, but non as red as this one!
