Having photographed Lichfield cathedral on my own in the early morning, I was keen to return with my wife Liz to watch the sunset on the evening of the same day.
Well we weren't disappointed, with dramatic low clouds catching the last light of the day and reflecting dramatically in Stowe Pool as the cathedral itself was thrown into a silhouette, like a finger pointing to heaven.
We managed to watch a photograph for just a little longer before those threatening clouds delivered their promised deluge and we had to pack up and beat a hasty retreat to the car.
Well worth a little discomfort to see such a dramatic scene though.
