The story behind this image

This is one of the first images that I ever took at Penmon Point using a digital camera (Canon EOS 350D with 18-55 kit zoom).

I actually took dozens of images without moving the camera, capturing the changing light and different shapes of breaking waves, and this one was, in my opinion, the best of the bunch.

I love the combination of the breaking wave in the foreground and the sun just rising over Puffin Island in the background.

A minute or so after this image was taken the sun fully cleared the island and became much to harsh to photograph against.

My digital motto - Take lots of photos, and if the light gets better - take more!
