Penmon Point, on the island of Anglesey off the North Wales coast, is another of my favourite lighthouse locations.
It takes over an hour for me to drive to this location from where I live so trips have to be carefully planned, with tide tables and weather forecasts consulted in detail to get the best out of the visit.
On this occasion I was there on a stormy morning in the middle of winter, which made for a late sunrise with the light coming from a helpful direction and good clouds, but it was blooming freezing!
To get this shot I had to perch on a rock ledge almost at sea level, and with an incoming tide and lively sea I found myself having to make some dramatic wave avoidance maneouvers as I waited for the sun to rise far enough to highlight the rock ledges in the fore and middle ground.
I bet it's only photographers who get to experience the outdoors under such crazy conditions!
