The weather plays such an important role for the landscape photographer, and the same scene can look vastly different under clear skies as opposed to stormy skies.
The sky on this occasion, on the beach at Talacre on the North Wales coast, was magnificent and rightly deserved to be made the most of in a composition.
Placing small focal points in such images where you want to emphasise the sky works well, and the famous lighthouse here on the beach was perfect for providing just such a point of interest.
For me, the real bonus in this image is the reflection - giving double the impact of the fantastic clouds. The tide had just started to recede leaving behind these great reflecting pools that I just had to take advantage of.
I just love it when all the elements in a scene come togther and compliment each other, with the whole thing being greater than the sum of its parts.
