I'd spent an amazing evening on the beach at Talacre, photographing stills of the incoming tide for a timelapse video sequence I wanted to make (you can see it here).
I'd just finished shooting and I was making my way back along the beach in the most surreal of conditions.
It was nearly midnight, but being almost midsummer there was still light in the sky. An eight metre high tide was fully in, covering the beach right up to the base of the dunes and the full moon was shining onto the lighthouse, causing the white painted structure to glow against the night sky.
Perched on top of the lighthouse, the famous sculpture called 'The Keeper' was in plain view, and it felt as if I was being watched as I made my way along the tide line.
I couldn't resist stopping for just one more photograph, even though it meant unpacking all my gear again.
After all, conditions like these occur very rarely, and I wasn't going to miss wringing every last moment of enjoyment and creativity from my rather special evening at this unique location.
