Beaches are fantastic places for outdoor photography. i find that no matter how many times I visit a certain beach I'll always find some new view to explore.
This photo is a case in point, as the contours of Talacre beach are constantly changing with wind and tide, resulting in a moveable feast of tidal pools appearing in different places week by week.
Talacre, with its unique lighthouse, is an ideal place to make use of such reflecting pools of still water left behind by the tide, as placing the lighthouse and its reflection in an image creates a very strong and interesting composition.
In this case I was also blessed with a sky full of dramatic cirrus clouds, set against a saturated blue background which converted very well to black and white for added impact.
Nice.
