This image shows two old relics, in similar states of dilapidation, juxtaposed on the beach at Talacre, North Wales.
Both the finger sign and the Point of Ayr lighthouse took a battering in the storms of Christmas 2013, but I'm very glad to see that both survived intact, if a little weatherbeaten and with a serious lean.
A late afternoon sun does justice to the decaying sign, highlighting the texture and raised grain of wood that's been exposed to the elements for a long, long time.
I'm glad these two old friends made it through the rough weather as I always like to visit and photograph them while at Talacre.
