I like lilies. One can make eye catching and 'arty' images of them all through their flowering cycles.
This particular image takes advantage of the very limited depth of field of my 100mm macro lens at maximum open aperture.
The only part of the imge in focus is the detail at the very tip of the bud while the rest of the bud sweeps away into a wonderfully blurry and colourful backdrop.
I was especially drawn to the juxtaposition of the greens and pinks in this composition, and it's the colours more than any other feature that make this image work for me.
