My wife Liz and I had finished a bracing stroll around the Marine Lake at West Kirby on the Wirral, and with the afternoon still young, on a whim, we decided to drive around the top of the Wirral Peninsula to see what was there.
Well, was I in for a surprise!
Stopping at the top right hand corner of the Wirral at New Brighton, on the mouth of the River Mersey, an amazing vista of the Liverpool waterfront opened up before us.
First and foremost my attention was grabbed by the line of huge red cranes across the estuary at the Liverpool 2 Container Terminal, standing tall and proud as patches of sunlight and shadow raced across the scene from the fast moving clouds overhead.
So I took advantage of the opportunity to capture the hundreds of still images needed to create my Merseyside Timelapse #1 video.
This single frame is one of those images, selected thanks to the bright sunlight shining on the cranes at that instant.
