My wife Liz and I had finished a bracing stroll around the Marine Lake at West Kirby on the Wirral, and with the afternoon still young, on a whim, we decided to drive around the top of the Wirral Peninsula to see what was there.
Well, was I in for a surprise!
Turning around the top right hand corner of the Wirral at New Brighton, on the mouth of the River Mersey, an amazing vista of the Liverpool waterfront opened up before us.
Driving further down the side of the Mersey we arrived at Seacombe Dock, home of the famous Mersey Ferry, which is where I captured this view of the modern skyscapers in the business and hotel district.
Well I'd never actually seen this view before, and I was just blown away with how lovely Liverpool looked from across the Mersey.
