I must admit that jetties of all sorts hold a photographic fascination for me, and I'll go out of my way to capture images of these wonderful pieces of architecture.
Perhaps it's because jetties span the interface between land and sea, between the fixed and the moving that I find them so compelling.
Anyhow, in this case I didn't have to exert too much effort as this jetty leads off the promenade at Llandudno and it was the work of just a few minutes to divert from our walk for me to capture this scene as my wife Liz waited patiently for me to finish.
Night had fallen and the wooden structure of the jetty was picking up the orange glow of the streetlights back on the promenade, contrasting beautifully with the rich blue of the night skies overhead.
Well worth a few minutes' effort to preserve such loveliness as a photograph.
