Half past five on a midsummer's morning and the sun had only been above the horizon for forty five minutes as I took the multiple overlapping exposures needed to compose this panoramic collage of the iconic pier, Great Orme headland and North Shore promenade at Llandudno on the North wales coast.
There's no better time of the year, or time of the day, to be here, totally alone in the beautiful light with only a few squawking seagulls and the sussurant hiss of wavelets on pebbles and the smell of seaweed at low tide for company.
A few minutes later and the light has become too harsh for the kind of image making I'm interested in this morning, so it's back to the car for the drive home, breakfast, and then off to work, still glowing with the pleasure of experiencing such loveliness.
