An almost full moon hangs in the evening sky over the North Wales coast towards the end of a long mid-June day, and my wife Liz and I are in a prime spot to watch the daylight falling away over the lovely Llandudno Bay.
We're parked up in a convenient layby on the panoramic drive around the Great Orme headland, overlooking the iconic Victorian pier, now in shadow as the sun dips lower in the sky.
But on the far side of Llandudno Bay the sun is still bathing the Little Orme and the promenade in glorious golden light.
Time for a photograph then, before the sun dips further and all of Llanduddno is enveloped in the shadows of sunset.
My choice of format to capture the lighting contrasts across this scene was a wide angle panoramic collage, requiring several overlapping frames that would be blended together later in Adobe Lightroom.
The best way, I think, to convey the loveliness of the view over Llandudndo Bay on this wonderful evening.
