The story behind this image

The desire to get out for a breath of sea air finally overcame my wife Liz and my reluctance to get wet and cold on a stormy December day.

So we loaded up our car with survival gear and photographic equipment and headed to the West Shore at Llandudno on the North Wales for a bracing stroll in the freshening breeze.

Stroll over, we parked up at the base of the Great Orme while I attempted some photography.

The storm clouds over the North Wales coast, with rain squalls tracking along the horizon, were very dramatic so I hunkered down behind a convenient parapet and set my camera off recording the few hundred still images needed to create my Llandudno Clouds Timelapse #3 video.

This is one of those hundreds of frames, selected to present as a stand-alone image with the clouds and lighting at their most striking.
