The North Wales coast is a great place to catch a magnificent sunset or sunrise out over the Irish Sea during the summer months, when sunrise is to the northeast and sunset is to the northwest.
But a flat expanse of sea can be a bit boring, even with a lovely sunset, and an interesting coastline can certainly trun a so so sunset photo into something a bit more special.
Cue the West Shore at Llandudno, with views out over the Conwy estuary to the headland of Penmaenmawr to the southwest, great for a winter sunset, and bounded the the limestone headland of the Great Orme to the northwest, equally great for a summer sunset.
This photo is of a sunset in mid-May, with the sun setting just off the Great Orme as delicate clouds float by overhead.
Just a lovely, lovely scene.
