North Wales lies pretty much directly underneath the battleground between two competing global air masses, so naturally enough there's usually some active weather to enjoy.
With big skies to enjoy, the North Wales coast is a prime spot to watch the show from, especially if you can also view a sunset at the same time.
One of my favourite spots for weather watching is the West Shore at Llandudno which, due to its west facing aspect, allows you to witness the sunset right through the year.
So quite often you'll find my wife Liz and I, coffees in hand, enjoying the view from the beachside car park aas the sun sinks slowly into the Irish Sea.
On this particular occasion the sun set into a bank of broken cloud, and just for a few moments this shaft of glowing light found a gap in the wrack, lighting up the low level clouds that were streaming by.
Good job I had my camera handy, set up and ready for action, as this lovely effect was soon over and the scene descended into the grey monotone of evening.
