Sticking out of the stones like a row of rotten teeth, these old wooden groynes on the beach at Llanfairfechan on the North Wales coast make for a striking photographic subject.
There's something very wistful about decaying shoreline features like these, engendering a feel of the genteel passage of time that is so typical of this part of the world.
