The North Wales coastal strip has some very large stretches of sand, and a tidal range of up to 8 metres, together with constantly changing contours, results in some very impressive tidal pools.
These tidal pools make great photographic subjects, especially at twilight when the beautiful sky colours and clouds are reflected in the mirror like water, framed with darker patches of exposed sand.
I photographed this shapely pool from the promenade at Llanfairfechan one completely still evening, and what intrigued me about this composition was the clouds reflecting in the pool, while the sky that was included in the shot was completely clear.
It's almost as though I'd Photoshopped the clouds in during post-processing - but I didn't.
