The lovely town of Llangollen in North Wales is justly famous worldwide as home of the Welsh International Eisteddfod, but outside of major events Llangollen has a quiet 'olde worlde' charm all of its own.
One of the nicest aspects of the town, from my photographic point of view, is the promenade along the banks of the river Dee from where, when the river is low, you can climb down onto the flat rock sheets that form islands in the flow.
That's just what I did to capture this image of the town and church spire reflecting in the still waters of a shallow pool, just as the sun was starting to set, casting low angled beams of warm light across the scene.
A quiet photograph that captures the sleepy ambiance of this charming town.
