Some scenes are just so surreal as to defy description.
A friend of mine, who climbed Snowdon with me on the day this transparency was exposed, has a print of it hanging vertically in his kitchen and he reckons that that way up it looks like an alien face, resembling some sort of preying mantis.
It is, of course, part of the Snowdon horseshoe ridge, reflecting perfectly in the still waters of Llyn Llydaw at sunrise on a sub-zero winter's morning in the Snowdonia National Park in North Wales.
No, the reflection isn't photoshopped. Yes, it really did look like this!
I've been along that same path many times before and since that memorable morning, but I've never seen conditions like this again.
I'm so glad I had my camera with me, and I was able to make a decent exposure with the limited dynamic rance of Fuji Velvia.
