It's a rare treat to get a still, clear dusk in the Snowdonia National Park, as North Wales isn't known for its stable weather!
So to make the most of the early October evening, my wife Liz and I drove up to one of our favourite beauty spots at Llyn Mymbyr, which gives a lovely view out across the water to the peaks of the Snowdon Horseshoe to the west.
The colours in the sky during twilight were just lovely, with a subtle gradation of pinks and mauves to enjoy while the peaks had just a hint of mist over them that was also picking up those colours.
The lake was reasonably calm, but as I wanted to catch as good a reflection as possible in these lovely conditions, I fitted a Lee 6 stop neutral density filter to my camera, along with a Lee 2 stop neutral density graduated filter to balnace the exposure levels between sky and reflection.
I was delighted with the results shown here.
There's a wonderful sublety to the scene that conveys pretty well the feelings we experienced being there.
