Surely one of the most dramatic locations in North Wales, this is the Ogwen valley in the Snowdonia National Park.
The Ogwen valley forms the divide between two mountain ranges, the Glyderau to the south and the Carneddau to the north, with the lake Llyn Ogwen filling the gap in-between.
This 180° panoramic collage was photographed with my back to the Glyderau and with the imposing bulk of the beautifully shaped Pen yr Olwen rising up from the far side of the lake, the first peak of the Carneddau.
looking at this image, you would think it was taken on a lovely summer's day, with bright sunshine and fluffy white cumulus clouds wafting by overhead.
But in fact I took this series of stills in late December 2016, during a spell of unseasonably warm and settled weather that had most of the country seemingly camped out in Snowdonia.
And who am I to find fault with that, living close as I do to one of the most beautiful places in the world. (When it's not raining that is!)
