Having visited the Cuina del Moro viewpoint on Mallorca's Cap de Formentor on a previous occasion under the harsh light of an afternoon sun, I was very keen to see and photograph the view from this popular beauty spot under the softer, warmer light of the sunset golden hour.
Well, I got my chance and I wasn't disappointed as my wife Liz and I sat on the much less crowded viewpoint wall, with tripod and camera set up ready to record the fading light.
We must have stayed there for about an hour, photographing and marvelling as the previously pale rocks of the island of El Colomer and the nearby cliffs took on a golden red colour as the sun approached the horizon.
As the light finally faded from the scene and dusk set in a young man proposed (sucessfully I'm glad to say) to his girlfriend on the terrace below us, much to the delight of the few die hard tourists left.
And that sort of summed up what I can only describe as the romantisism engendered in such a wonderful place at the turn of the day.
I hope my favourite photo from that evening's visit conveys just a little of that!
