One of the nicest places that Liz and I visited during our ten day sojourn on the Mediterranean island of Mallorca was Port de Soller.
Situated on the rugged west coast, Port de Soller is a working fishing port as well as a holiday spot.
The working nature of the town adds authenticity to what may otherwise have become just another collection of restaurants and appartments, so it was a real pleasure to spend some time in amongst the nets and other miscellaneous fishing gear at the non-tourist end of the bay.
This line of netting, laid out to dry along the quay with its combination of colours and shapes, proved photographically irrestistable to me.
A wide angle lens from a low viewpoint exaggerated the perspective, giving a nice 'vanishing point' effect to the compostion of this image.
