Living in God's own country of North Wales, I'm blessed with stunning coastal and mountain scenery virtually on my doorstep.
In fact, the only fly in the ointment is the preponderance of cloud and rain that we get here.
So I was delighted to find the same stunning combination of mountains and sea on the west coast of the Mediterranean island of Mallorca, where the Sierra de Tramuntana range sweeps down to the sea.
It was really nice to be warm while enjoying the view as well!
This is the layout that greeted Liz and I from the Mirador (viewpoint) de Ricardo Roca, where we stopped for dinner during a mammoth drive down the fantastic MA-10 road.
The scene, with a high sun, could have been quite bland, but fortunately some cumulus clouds were forming as the onshore breeze hit the mountains and these clouds painted the landscape with patches of shade and light which brought the view to life.
Needless to say, we stayed quite a long time, enjoying the view and photographing as we ate our picnic.
Of all the photos I took at the time, this one was my favourite, with the nicest distribution of shadow and light across the scene.
