What a stunning place!
In all my trips around Wales, I'd never been to the area around Barmaouth and the Mawddach estuary until now.
Liz and I had spent the afternoon walking around the beautiful Cregennan Lakes at the foot of Cader Idris at the southern end of the Snowdonia National Park, before heading down to the coast at Fairbourne for some tea.
Fairbourne itself proved to be a revelation as we parked up by the side of the estuary and took in the views of the mountains that we'd been exploring earlier.
It was a beautiful spring afternoon as we sat and enjoyed the sunshine, just looking at the scenery as the waters of the Afon Mawddach rolled by over the sands below us at low tide.
On the far side of the estuary, a bank of cloud had formed over the peak of Cader Idris, adding the finishing touch to this lovely scene, so of course, I had to take a few exposures, of which this one is my favourite.
