A beautiful, clear dawn found me on the summit of my local hill, Moel Famau in the Clwydian Range Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) in North Wales, after a breathless climb racing the approaching sunrise.
I arrived just in time to catch peak colour on the eastern horizon, about thirty minutes before the actual sunrise, and was able to capture just a few exposures featuring the ruins of the Jubilee Tower silhouetted against the skyglow.
A few minutes later and that band of orange and mauve had faded considerably in the approaching light of day, and I made my happy way back down to the car park as the rising sun lit the distant peaks of Snowdonia on the western horizon.
It's mornings like this that I get out of bed for!
