In northeast Wales where I live clear skies at sunset are a rarity, and clear skies with flat calm conditions are even more hard to find.
So when these two weather phenomena combined over the easter weekend of 2019 my wife Liz and I took full advantage with a 15 minute drive up to our local hill, Moel Famau on the Clwydian Range Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, to watch the sunset.
But of course, I wasn't going to just watch the show, and I quickly had my camera set up at a vantage point that allowed me to catch the sun setting behind the slope of the mountain, lighting up the wispy clouds with a firey red blaze as it fell out of sight.
This image is just one of a few hundred that I shot that evening in order to make my Moel Famau Sunset Timelapse #3 time lapse video, and I chose it as a single image because of the position of the sun relative to the slope of Moel Famau.
