Mid May on the beautiful Isle of Anglesey, just off the North Wales coast, and the wildflowers that adorn the 125 mile long coastal path are just coming into bloom.
To my mind, this is the best time of year to be walking the coastal path, with everything coming back to life after the long winter sleep.
One stretch of the coastal path that my wife Liz and I keep on coming back to is along the cliffs near Moelfre on the eastern side of the island.
Not only is it naturally very beautiful here, but there are also some very interesting and photogenic old structures to admire, linked to the proud seafaring traditions in this part of the world.
Such as the old lifeboat station pictured here, now replaced with a much more capable building just a stone's throw further along the coast.
Just a lovely old building, so in keeping with its surroundings and nicely in contrast with the short lived but colourful wild flowers along the side of the path.
