The historic town of Kotor in Montenegro is part of a UNESCO designated world heritage site. You can read more about the town and its history on Wikipedia.
This means that all the old buildings have to stay, well, old.
This is great for the visiting photographer, such as myself, as a wander around the back streets reveals all sorts of hidden visual gems like this intriguing shop doorway.
What attracted me to photograph this doorway in particular (other doorways were available) was the hint of colourful tourist tat, almost shamefully peeping out from behind the otherwise subdued and ancient architecture.
One of those curious juxtapositions that just begs to be photographed.
