The acute light of the just risen sun grazes the landscape on a cold winter's morn as I stand on the summit of Moel Famau in North Wales' Clwydian range and drink in the beauty around me.
With the air temperature below freezing and with low humidity, there's not much muck in the air to soften the light, so every detail in the scene before me is picked out in searing clarity.
From the small stones at my feet to the blocks of masonry making up the remains of the Jubilee Tower in front of me, I can see minute detail everywhere I look.
This photo of the tower is just one of many that I took that morning, and a later conversion to monochrome helped to reinforce the sharpness of the light on that lovely morning.
