Another cold, clear winter's morning on the slopes of my local hill, Moel Famau in North Wales.
Moel Famau is quite heavily forested with pine, and I've used the trees in many different compositions that I've photographed during my morning excursions.
On this occasion, with a waning moon just nicely placed low in the sky, I decided to use the trees as sillhouettes to frame the sky and draw attention to the bright moon.
The beautiful gradations of colour in the sky as the sun approached the eastern horizon were an added bonus, and it's mornings like these that make it worthwhile getting out of bed early.
