The quality of light in the clean air of Ireland's west coast has to be experienced to be believed.
When the sky is clear at dawn there's a glow that's almost alive, and my photo is just a poor representation of reality.
What made this particular photo special, apart from the light, was the solitary cloud that formed over the Brandon Mountains.
The scene so brought to my mind the famous poem by William Wordsworth.
'I wandered lonely as a cloud
That floats on high o'er vales and hills'.
Unfortunately he then loses the plot and starts on about daffodils (none in sight on the Dingle Peninsula), but these first two lines just sum up this composition perfectly.
