One of the two sunny days we enjoyed during our holiday on the Dingle Peninsula on Ireland's west coast.
I wasn't expecting anything else really, as any sunny day in this part of the world is a bonus to be enjoyed to the full.
My wife, children and grandchildren were walking to the local beach but I was lagging behind the main party, camera in hand, photographing the whimsical solitary cumulus clouds that were forming over the Brandon mountains and then evaporating again as they blew out to sea.
It's very rare that you see just a solitary cloud like this, normally they come in groups, so I always make an effort to photograph the single clouds when they occur.
A polarising filter is most useful in a situation like this, darkening the blue sky and helping the cloud to stand out.
Photography urge satisfied for the time being, I joined my family for a fun afternoon building sandcastles and paddling in the stunning azure ocean. (Freezing cold by the way!)
