The story behind this image

North Wales is a land of stunning scenery, but some places stand out as truly beautiful.

The Glyderau range of mountains in Snowdonia is one such place, and Liz and I return here again and again to walk the lower slopes and drink in the unique atmosphere. You could almost be in Middle Earth, with hobbits and dwarfs hiding behind the rock piles.

This is one of my favourite views from the path that leads from the Ogwen visitors centre up to Llyn Idwal at the base of the aptly named Devil's Kitchen.

In front of us is the fantastically shaped peak of Tryfan, looking so much like a giant Cornish pasty. Surely one of the most photogenic mountains in existance.

I'm sure Liz and I will be back here again in the not too distant future.
