Love them or hate them, one unavoidable aspect of the scenery in mountainous Austria is the plethora of cable car pylons that dot the slopes.
When I'm out photographing in the landscape I try and consider if man made additions, buildings, pylons and so on, add something to the scene, or are just an eyesore.
Some things, like lighthouses for example, are absolute no-brainers for me and I'll always include them, often using such as the focal point of the scene.
Other man made additions are not so clear cut, and I'll have to think long and hard about not photographing them at all, or cropping/cloning them out of a final image. These pylons fall into this category, but in the end I decided that, with a bit of effort, a photo featuring a pylon in the landscape could be both dramatic and show the stark contrast between the natural and man made environment.
So here it is, a photograph of an Austrian mountain pylon in all its shiny glory!
