The story behind this image

This photo was taken halfway up Moel Siabod, a smallish mountain in the Snowdonia National Park with beautiful views.

There are several paths to the top of Moel Siabod, with this one starting at the Capel Curig end of Llyn Mymbry, and winding its way up through forest and out onto open moor, which is where this photo was taken, looking back towards the distant peaks of the Cambrian mountain range.

Although Moel Siabod is a beautiful place, I have mixed feeling about this particular climb as I managed to tear two of my left knee tendons in an accident on these slopes (what I actually did was too silly to talk about!) and I'm still feeling the effects over a year later. It's amazing how unbalanced you can be with a fully laden LowePro on your back!
