During our week's stay in Normandy, my wife Liz and I tried to visit as many recommended places as possible from the top ten places to visit list in our guide book.
One of the recommendations was the olde worlde port of Honfleur, and I'm certainly glad we made the effort to visit, as even on a dull overcast day the whole town was both quaint and charming.
These steps, leading to a huge, old timber and stone building at the mouth of the Vieux-Bassin, caught my eye for their photographic potential, and I couldn't resist including the old hurdy-gurdy man who was taking a well earned break from organ grinding for a few minutes.
And yes - he did have a monkey!
