Low tide at the charming Normandy seaside resort of Yport revealed this chalk foreshore, with its lovely lines and textures, which I couldn't resist clambering over in search of a decent composition to photograph.
So while my wife Liz sat on the promenade drinking tea I was slipping and sliding over the seaweed covered rocks to this vantage point, where the natural fractures in the chalk pointed nicely towards the town and cliffs in the distance.
A touch of lingering sea mist rendered the background elements with less saturation and contrast than would be seen on a normal sunny day, which I think added a peaceful and olde worlde ambiance to this image, reflecting the mood of Yport itself.
The passing seagull was just a piece of luck really!
