Situated right on the southeastern tip of the beautiful Isle of Anglesey, Penmon Point, with its iconic lighthouse and views out to Puffin Island (not to mention the cafe), is a very popular spot for anglers, photographers, dolphin watchers and folk who appreciate unspoilt beauty.
I normally visit here around dawn in the summer months to catch a sunrise over Puffin Island, but on this occasion my wife Liz and I decided to stop by during more normal daylight hours.
With some time available, we struck off along the edge of the cliffs to the north of the lighthouse, a walk which we hadn't done before.
The high ground and new viewing direction gave us a different perspective looking back at the lighthouse and Puffin island, as normally I'll photograph the scene from the rocks in front of the lighthouse.
So it was quite refreshing to see this familiar landscape from a fresh angle, and with a lovely blue sky and wispy clouds in the background I'm really pleased with how nicely this simply composed image has turned out.
