Any half decent British seaside town has a pier, and Llandudno, on the North Wales coast, is no exception, boasting a prime example of this anachronistic architecture.
Piers are nothing more than huge playgrounds for photographers, with all sorts of quirky and unusual compositions possible. However, for this photo I went for the straight shot, albeit in beautiful evening light, with the Little Orme in the background and the pier itself glowing in the last rays of the setting sun.
A calm sea and sky complete the feeling of peace and well being that a day at the seaside brings.
