On holiday in Ireland, strolling through O'Brien's Bridge in County Clare, Liz and I came across a wonderful cottage, whose front garden had been sown randomly with wild flowers.
The effect was quite enchanting, and many passers by were stopping to admire and photograph the display.
My eye was immediately drawn to the glorious red poppy heads and I took many different photos at various shutter speeds and apertures to give me a range of options to look at later on.
This was my favourite, with a fast shutter speed to keep the poppy sharp as it moved about in the light breeze, and a wide open aperture giving a reduced depth of field thus rendering the background flowers as an out of focus blur which helped the poppy stand out in the composition even more.
