This is the beautiful cove of Porth Dafarch, on the Isle of Anglesey, just off the North Wales coast.
My wife Liz and I often stop here during our many visits to Anglesey for a walk on the beach or along the coastal path.
This view is from the coastal path as it climbs a rocky headland, giving an overview of the scene.
The weather on this occasion was superb, both for walking and for photography, with the late afternoon June sun lighting the beach and opposing headland while fluffy white cumulus clouds dotted the heavens above.
In composing the image I decided to place the main emphasis on the sky, full of interesting detail as it was, with the golden sands and warmly lit rocks forming a nice colour counterpoint to the blues above.
A truly wonderful place, looking its best late on a summer's afternoon.
